Believe it or not, Kingsdown is making mattresses for more then 100 years. That's right. And they are specialized in inner spring items. Yes, I know that Simmons has pocketed coil mattress and that there are more memory foam mattress options then ever, but Kingsdown mattress is awesome quality product in its niche - inner spring. The company is doing what they do best, and there is nothing bad about that. They do not feel the need to spread. There are plenty of others who are doing it, so Kingsdown is making a difference. And this makes it possible for them to make a lower price mattress. This is a huge advantage so Kingsdown beds are a good opportunity.

The company strives in creating better products, and their Kingsdown body system mattress is their latest and finest mattress. It is made out of full coil and the coils are from high tempered steel. Ok, you say, nothing special. But the catch is, they used the calculations and technology in order to create a comfortable mattress, that is good as any other - or even better. The construction of Kingsdown Body Shape mattress will allow that entire body has optimal position during sleep. This is exactly why this mattress is a great solution, and the consumers are satisfied with the results. And when compared to other quality mattresses, like Sealy and Simmons, there is no difference in comfortability. The consumers can't quite tell the difference and feel that Kingsdown mattress is giving them what they need. I think that is more then enough.
One interesting tool Kingsdown has is their Dormo diagnostic sleep machine. It is supposed to help you in deciding which mattress suits you best by analyzing your answers to the questions. We all know it's not really cool to try out a mattress in a store, so this little gadget helps you pick a best Kingsdown mattress for yourself.
Lets mention one fantastic item that you may be interested in. It's a Kingsdown partner perfect mattress that tries to absorb the motion made by a sleeper. Usually, inner spring mattresses cause waves through the entire structure. But this product is made to reduce those waves and it does the job quite good. It's not great, but it definitely is better at it then the rest inner spring mattresses.
You will also be able to find different lines of Kingsdown mattresses. One of them is a Plush sense, and the best one there uses ProEdge spring system which provides you with better comfort due to it's firmer edges. You know that plenty of mattresses get all crooked when it comes to edges, and ProEdge spring system is Kinsdown answer to that.
Most of mattresses from this company are hypo allergenic. Some of them use Flexatron and super soft foam, as well as Qualatex. These are all materials that improve the firmness and comfortability of a mattress so you can have a good, relaxing sleep.
Mot people still prefer inner spring mattresses and Kingsdown is an expert in that field. We strongly suggest you try one of them and compare it to others. You will probably go for it, since you will have the same quality other mattress manufacturers offer, but for a lower price. I hope you found what you were looking for in this Kingsdown bed review.

I have a kingsdown mattress queen size. It was a pricey mattess and I have had it for about 8 years. It is sagging and lumpy and when I bought it the salesman told me it would be good at least 10 years. My hips, back and shoulders are killing me. I am upset that I paid almost three thousand for it and I wouldnt recommend it.
We are now trying to get ours replaced because of the deep sagging on both sides. My wife and I call the middle of the bed "The Hump". If you get caught sleeping on it in the middle of the night you're in for a sore back the next day...We paid over $1700 for ours and wish we had done some more research before we bought.
I noticed a mattress article on AOL today so decided to look at it. In that article, Kingsdown was #10. I have one. I have had it just about 10 years now. I LOVE it! I bought it when I lived in VA and I am happy to know now that Sleepy's, here in NJ, sells them. I will surely buy another. I suppose it is time, but so far, it is still great. For reference, I have spinal arthritis and I sleep so well each and every night. We turn it maybe a couple of times a year and I know you must do that. Perhaps the owners from the other comments have a different model than mine, but I will stick with what works for me. Sleep is the most important part of our health.
My Kingsdown feels like a waterbed and nothing like the one we saw in the showroom. We have had it for just over four months now and are completely unhappy.
I have had a kingsdown queen size mattress for 3 years now. It is a no flip mattress. The first 3 years were great but the last 3 months have been horriable. The mattress does not have the typical sag from where 2 people lay. It sags on the head end of the mattress. I could understand if I was jumping on the bed or had weight issues but my wife and I are both under 175 pounds and the mattress makes it feel like the blood if running to your head from the extreme sag. I tried turning the end around and now it feels like we are going to slide off the bed. I filed a complaint and was told someone would be in contact with me in 48 hours. One week later and i still have heard nothing. If I only wanted a few years out of a mattress I could have bought a cheap one every 3 years for the price and came out better. NOT WORTH THE PRICE AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
just wanted to say thanks (and sympathies) to all the kingsdown commenters for saving me from a nightmare...almost bought one, till i googled.
sleep tight.
My Kingsdown has been awful, I have had it for 4 months and there is a huge hump in the middle and holes on each side of it. When I called Sleepy's to ask what was in it, they said Kingsdown doesn't provide that info!!! How can you sell something without listing its contents. He said they were able to give the "specs" on every other brand but not Kingsdown. I basically threw my hard-earned $2500 out the window. DONT BUY THIS BRAND THEY ARE DECEPTIVE
I bought this mattress 4 months ago and I have been miserable ever since. I should have kept my 20 yr old mattress. I tried to take it back to Mattress Giant, and they tried to stick me with a restocking fee, and I had to pay the difference on another mattress, which was going to be another $1000 for another brand. Both of our backs hurt every night and this mattress is not worth the dumpster I'm getting ready to throw it in. DON'T BUY THIS MATTRESS, ITS A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY. ITS NOTHING LIKE IN THE STORE. But then again, how do you know how a bed feels after laying on it for 30 min in the store? Its impossible to gauge how you will sleep for 8 hrs, and that's how these mattress places get you.
My husband and I have a vacation home on the Jersey shore. We're only there 4 months of the year so we didn't want to spend a fortune on a king size mattress. The salesperson at Sleepy's told us about Kingsdown. We had a trial period (I don't recall if it was 30 or 90 days) but we LOVE it! It's now been on our bed for 4 years and everytime we get back to the shore, we look forward to our Kingsdown mattress. Since we only have about 16 months full-time use on the mattress, I'm not sure how it will last through the years but, I would definately buy another one.
We went to a Sleepy's store and were forced to lay on the machine...It was very cute, but no computer is going to tell me what bed to buy. We bought the one with the really soft fur from another company called Mirrorlux. I have to say that we were also treated well and that we got delivery the next day.
Well, what are you talking about. THe Sleep to Live machine is very impressive and we use it on every customer. We are forced to do it by our boss harry. We do not mean to be forceful to our consumers, but since harry makes more money on the Kingsdown. You know how it is you have to protect number one...
"but since harry makes more money on the Kingsdown. You know how it is you have to protect number one..."
This is so funny..... I couldn't resist.
no wonder they push the brand...
I have been sleeping on a kingsdown mattress for about 18 years now -- the SAME kingsdown mattress. I can't say enough about how this bed has changed the quality of my sleep. I have never had any problems with them. Most of the people in my family also sleep on kingsdown, and I think this website is a scam, because I don't know anyone who has EVER had any problems with one.
I bought my first kingsdown when my doctor told me my torn rotator cuff needed some "serious pressure relief". That was about 10 years ago. I decided to go to a king size, so I have just bought my second, a tranquility. My kids fought over who would get the queen size - even at 10 years old - it is still just that good!
I had a problem with sagging on one side of my Kingsdown (my husband weighs over 300 lbs). We sent in some photos, and copied the info on the tag, and we got a brand new mattress completely Free. They were easy to deal with, and the bed was replaced, no questions asked. It was almost 16 years old! We LOVE Kingsdown. I'll never buy anything else.
The best money I have ever spent is on my Kingsdown Mattress Set. I sleep like a baby, and my husband has stopped tossing and turning all night. It feels amazing, and we are both sleeping great. Money VERY well spent.
When my wife picked out a kingsdown matteress, I about flipped because it was nearly 3 grand. But now that we have slept on it for about 5 years I think she made a great choice. We are buying one now for my parents. I wouldn't never buy them anything less than kingsdown.
We love our Kingsdown King's Court, we have had it for many years. We just tried to buy one for a second home we bought in Florida, and were distressed to learn that they don't make the King's Court anymore.
We bought the "elegant" which the salesman said was the same thing. It is just as nice as our Kings Court, and I am so relieved. Kingsdown has been a good investment for us, and I highly recommend them.
I just got delivered my new queen size Kingsdown mattress GREEN. It was perfect when I tried in store but now it doesn't feel as comfortable.
Mattress is definitley harder.Does it get softer with use ?
I work for Sleepy's, and I was never a huge fan of the Body Diagnostics line-up. The new Sleep to Live line-up, on the other hand, has been amazing. Far less "bounce" in the mattress and fewer customer service issues so far. To those talking about edge support: in most Kingsdown mattresses, the edge is designed to be the same firmness as the middle of the mattress. So, if you get a softer Kingsdiwn mattress, the edge is going to be softer to match. For those complaining about a "hump" in the bed, get a warranty inspection. You may be entitled to a free mattress.
I LOVE MY KINGSDOWN mattress! I have had it for 2 years now and it is so comfortable, I hate getting out of bed. I would recommend this mattress to anyone who wants a heavenly night's sleep.
I've had my full size Kingsdown mattress for 10 years now, and it's still great. I've not noticed any of the sagging or "hump" problems. I do flip it every 4-6 months though, if I remember to do so. I still highly recommend shopping around to find what's best for you though, and don't be so quick to buy something just because it's cheap or because it's the only brand you've ever heard of. I'm a firm believer of "you get what you pay for".
My wife and I love our Kingsdown. We had a small issue but it was handled quickly and easily. We actually brag about our bed to friends. Kingsdown customer for life? Maybe, as long as they treat us right- because we love their product!
Interesting ...
Just noticed that 3 positive comments on the same day May 23rd 7:11 PM , 7:15 PM and 7:17. Another 3 positive comments next day around same time 7:06 PM, 7:09 PM and 7:13 PM. While all other messages are scattered over weeks, if not months.
I am sure that all those 6 positive comments are from the SAME persona who is somehow related to Kingsdown and I believe they are real "SPAM"
I am trying to buy a beethoven king size for about 2100 and these comments makes me rethink about my decision.
I had a king kingsdown sleep to live be but would not fit. Now I love the bed but has any recently bought a sleep to live queen bed and how do you like it? I a little iffy because of some of the comments.
im a college student in nc...and have a hard time sleeping on dorm mattress so i went by sleepys store and was impressed but the price is redundant for a damn bed, with these negitive reviews i dnt think i want one anyway...thanx
Just got ours the other day. I'll have to say this is the best bed i've own....that just being three beds But We'll see how it goes. Day one was great I wonder how Day 5000 goes LOL LOVE IT SO far trying to figure out if it will be as bad as other say. Paid 1800 cdn
This mattress absolutely sucks! I have had it for less than a few weeks, and I went from having no body aches, to aching all over! I find myself tossing and turning, and in the short time I have had it, it is already showing sings of sag, so avoid this mattress, if you don't want to be rob!
My Mother is looking for a great mattress...she has sleeping problems. Our local furniture stores--Ethan Allen and Boyles--both carry Kingsdown.
BUT they all go under different names for the store and they're different prices.
HOW DO you know which name brand to get? We're looking at the Bella at Ethan Allen. Does anyone have the Bella????
Please stop this nonsense. Kingsdown is a great company. I own 3 of there top of the line mattresses. Stop commenting on there low end mattress
A great mattress does not cost $1500. We spent $3500 on each of ours.
Get a life people
We bought our kingsdown mattress a little over a year ago. I loved it from the start and I still love it!! We have not had any sagging and we both sleep great. I would recommend this mattress to anyone!!
I've had my Kingsdown for seven years now and still love it. No lumps or sagging. And I've only flipped it each time I moved into a new apartment, which has been three times since I've had it. I paid about $600 for Queen, and it was on sale from $900, I think.
I have only had my Kingsdown Mattress for about 6 years, but it still sleeps great. I couldn't be happier with it.
Just bought a 400 series Sleep to Live last night. Our previous bed (a high-end Beauty Rest) was only 6 years old, but both my husband and I would usually wake up during the night a time or two, and we tossed and turned with little rest. Laying on the Kingsdown felt heavenly, but I slept worse last night than ever before! A brand new bed at that price should have had me sleeping like a baby. We passed on a VERY nice Sealy that would have saved us $300. I believe this one will be going back for exchange!
Anyone here ever thought about buying a memory foam mattress?
I'm interested in buying a Sleep To Live 600 series king from Sleepy's. How much should I pay?
I have had my Kingsdown for 4 years, and it feels just the same as it did on Day 1. I've had at least 10 mattresses over the years, and the Kingsdown is the best one I've ever had!!! I have a hard time sleeping now, if I am not at home in my Kingsdown.
p.s. - I have never had ANY lumpy problems like people have mentioned..?? My mattresses is just like new, 4 years later.
I am in the market for a new bed. I am upgrading to a king size.
I have a 4 year old Kingsdown mattress. I will probably go with Kingsdown again if the store I choose to by from has there product.
I have tried the 400 red and liked it, however the diagnostic said I should use the blue. I sleep on my side and that is the side I have problems with: shoulder and neck. My mattress is 15 yrs old so I know that it is due. I also use a temperpedic pillow, also very old.
My dilemna is a choice between the Deluxe Bed-Temperpedic or the Sleep to Live 400 series. I do not want the $800 difference sway me. They each are very comfortable, what concerns me is all the negative comments about the Kingsdown. Any thoughts?
Just bought a Kingsdown, and I couldn't be happier. I have a bad back (at the age of 26), and I wake up feeling well rested, and painless. It's made for a better quality of sleep, and in turn, a better quality of life.
Kingsdown is the worst mattress EVER... It sags and it is soo lumpy.. I have never slept on a MORE UNCONFORTABLE MATTRESS EVER! No customer service.. I was not helped and I have been talking with the customer service about this problem for weeks. The mattress was bought only 3 weeks ago! I spent 3,300 on it and it is not worth 5 dollars!
Shoot I was so excited for a mattress! Just bought the blue last week, I had no pain but it wasn't comfy, switched to green, and I woke up in so much pain and so sweaty I felt like throwing up. Now what, switch back to the blue? I did have no pain for the first time in years on the blue but it wasn't comfortable. Or switch to a Serta? UGH 3k wasted and I feel like crying!
I returned my Kingsdown and I wasn't the only one returning the green at the store that day.
I got a tempurpedic, it's only been one night but I love it and woke up in no pain. Didn't have the extreme heat issue that I had in the Kingsdown either, ahhhh
I saw Kingsdown at one store for only about $900 - I didn't like it. But then I went to another store where they ranged in price from about $2000-$5000. I couldn't believe they were made by the same company! The cheap ones were not anywhere near the quality of the more expensive ones. We bought a Tranquility for about $3200 - and we LOVE it! Perhaps the negative comments are on the cheap ones? We have only had ours for a few months, but I can tell you that I have never slept so well in my life. I think you get what you pay for.
I think a mattress is a very personal thing. My mom and sister each have the kingsdown, and we all have a #3 in firmness. I wish I would have gotten the #2 for DH's sake but I love the 3. My husband said he didn't like it, but any time we have had to sleep anyplace else he complains his back hurts, but at home he does not so I think he may not "like it" but I can tell it has the best result and he is "happier" sleeping on it even if he won't admit it, hah!
I love how squishy it is, but we have not had any issues with it sinking in. It's soft but firm. We have had it maybe 3 or 4 years and we spent about 3k on it, it's a king sized. It's actually put up witha 60 pound golden retriever, 20 pound sheltie and me and my husband (we are fairly small). The could have done the most damage to it but it hasn't had any issues with her sleeping or even playing on it.
My Fiance and I bought a Sleep to Live (green) which is supposedly made by Kingsdown. We've had it for a couple of weeks now and so far we love it. I would definitely recommend this bed. The only problem is that I don't want to get out of it in the morning... Love It!
Hi, I have just taken delivery of a 700 series sleep to live bed. It is some 3 inches higher than the one in the store so my husband cannot sit on the bed and place his feet on the floor - he finds it impossible and dangerous to climb in onto the bed. Ours is 31 inches high but the one in the store is 28 inches high. Can anyone tell us why? have they changed the model? there is a 3 inch 'skirt' around the mattress which gives it the extra 3 inches in height. The one in the showroom didn't have this but was put in store some 8 months ago. Please can anyone help me with an answer why it is higher?
Thanks S&J
Bought a 600 Series Blue (on both sides) 2 weeks ago and will be sending it back today. The heat issue was the first problem I encountered. Even with room temp of 65 - 68f I find myself tossing and turning several times during the night.
After 2 weeks, the mattress is already showing signs of sag. If I'm rolling toward the middle of the bed, it feeling like I'm rolling up hill. Would hate to see what it's like after 2 years.
Hi we are in the Uk and have bought a sleep to live 700 and my back is killing me. We ahve been told that we must use it for the 40 nights before we can change it - but what about the damage to my back?? I've never had a bad back until I got this bed. Any comments?? thanks
We bought a Kingsdown and after about three weeks, it was replaced bacause of sagging. The second one is far worse than the first and after being tested again by Mattress Marshalls, Kingsdown informed us by letter that they will not replace or refund our money even though the report from Mattress Marshalls showed the sagging worse than the first mattress. I can't even sleep on it so my husband switched to my side. Now it looks - after less than three months - as if it has two huge sink holes with a great hump in the milddle. My husband weighs 164 pounds and I weigh 124 At the present time, we are hoping that the company we purchased it from - BAER'S FURNITURE in FORT LAUDERDALE - will honor this cumtomer's request for a full refund. I will let you know what happens. Susan
Thank God I didn't listen to any of these reviews....Sleep to Live Blue...best mattress I ever slept on. I look forward to going to bed and my "relationship" has even been re-kindled after 25 years. I never knew what a good night sleep was until now. My previous mattress was a 13 year old Sealy and it never disappeared, but at the same time, was never that comfortable. Anyway, if you are torn, I say go for Sleep to live...it's only money. If you base everything on reviews, you won't be happy. I am glad I didn't
RE Above comment - a mattress sparked your romantic relationship? Try flowers, they are cheaper.
Some of these comments definitely smell of insider promotions, it's hard to know what to trust! Still dont know which direction I want to go...
I am back again. I said I would let you all know what happened with BAER'S FURNITURE IN FORT LAUDERDALE. Finally, they said they would take the mattress back and give us a store credit. We just spent over $5800.00 in their store. We have no need for more furniture. We are 67 years old and just want a decent mattress. They took our money without a backward glance. They should give us our mattress money. I am ashamed for them even if they are not. Bad karma.
Wow, I have had a Kingsdown mattress since I was about 13, I am 20 now and it is still in great shape. All of my friend's and family who have laid on it say it is just heavenly, I totally agree with them. Maybe it is because I am petite and a normal weight that my mattresses last longer or something, but I would totally buy another one of their mattresses if I ever even need a new one. :P
just bought the Kingsdown 'blue' series recommended by the computer profiling gizmo in the bed shop. this was literally 3 days ago. My partner and i were so excited about sleeping on it for the first time we went to bed really early. anyway, after the first night, we both reported broken sleep due to tossing and turning and both of us complained of back ache. disappointed, we put it down to our expectations perhaps being too great. next night, more of the same, which is actually why i am on this site, it seems others have also had bad experiences. anyway, we have decided to give the mattress a couple of weeks more to see if it needs to be 'broken in' some more. will post back if it does not improve.
i've had a kingsdown for 7 years now. it has taken me all 7 years to realize how bad this mattress has been for my over all well being. i've had Dr's attempting to diagnose me with Fibromyalgia due to my overall constant body aches and extremely sore muscles. my husband and i stayed in a hotel for 3 weeks and those weeks were the best sleep I've had in many many years! i've spent the last 2 nights in my own bed and this morning my back is KILLING me! my mattress is rotated or turned every 3 months and its sagging and lumpy. although they are initially very comfy to lay on i certainly would not reccomend buying one!! way too much money with bad results! p.s. i weigh 115 lbs and my hubby is 180lbs. so weight should not play any role at all in this!!
The material they use is cheap and is easily damaged, yet customer service will not acknowledge the manufacturing issue, eben with photographs to prove the issue. I will never waste my money on a Kingsdown mattress again.
I need to buy a new mattress. I'm debating between a Serta (I think it's a Serta) Chantilly lace or a Sleep to live 200 or 400 series "yellow"? Any suggestions?! Thank you!
I bought a Kingsdown 4 years ago at Sleepy's after lying on the machine. We bought the #2 softer one. And we paid almost $4000 for it. After 4 months I got a frozen shoulder.
I don't know about all you people who "love it" I think you work for Kingsdown, because it is HORRIBLE. we also have the lump in the middle of our king size bed and then the 2 valleys on either side. Now, my back and hip are out, too.
I was thinking of complaining, but one day when I went to look at what was on the tag and to see where this piece of crap was made it was written so small that I took the tag off to read it and realized it said you lose the warrently if the tag was removed. Great. :-(.
If you sit up and watch TV in bed you are really in touble, because that makes an even worse cavern wherever you sit. Just horrible!!!!!
i'm willing to say that any of the people complaining about sagging are slightly overweight or obese. Especially if they have a plush or pillow top...it will sag if you're big. I'm about 5'10 and 155 pounds. Haven't had any problems with my pillow top since i'm a light guy. without a doubt the most comfortable bed i've ever slept on. i'll only buy kingsdown.
My Kingsdown mattress is called the tradition and I have had it for a little over 3 years...AWESOME... I also spent 20 minutes lying on it to make sure it was what I wanted. Everyone is different. I know people who hate their 4,000 tempurpedic. In my opinion, Kingsdown is great. I am sure Sealy is great to but I am glad I spent my time lying down rather than reading reviews because I love my bed and I feel bad for all these unhappy people.
I'm in the market for a new mattress. I have a Kingsdown that is 10 years old and should have been replaced a while ago. It sags badly. Not again, oh no.
Shameful, one looks for insite from fellow consumers... yet this is what we get.
#1. If you are OBESE or your BMI is over 35..then STOP whining and lose weight!
Most of the complainers on here I guarantee have a lot of "cottage cheese" or "spare tires".
If you want a bed to support your tremendous weight, buy arock..but realize NO bed can withstand your obesity. NONE.
#2. If you are of normal height & weight, these sagging/hump/depression issues shouldn't affect you. You pick the firmness you want. STL 200's are more firm than the higher #'s. Pillow tops are generlaly softer then plushh tops.
Rememeber, the reviewers here are diverese. I think if people are going to review a matress, they need to state if they're normal weight, overweight, or obese.
Folks,
I spent $3,000 on Kingsdown Blue King Size in Dec 2007....It has been awful. We bought it at Sleepy's in Norwalk, CT. They put you on this fancy machine that helps recommend a Kingsdown to you. Well, how does a machine really know anything about me? Well, we listened to the salesguy and bought into it. The bottom line is that the mattress sags, has a hump in the middle, and our backs are aching and sore. I'm 5'10'' and 170 lbs and athletic....never heard of a mattress giving anyone this much pain. But this blog confirms it for me. Also, I've been dealing with Sleepys and emailed their execs (kprince@sleepys.com, dacker@sleepys.com, ablank@sleepys.com,DSgaraglio@sleepys.com)....their responses are inadequate and constantly require me to do their work....when you talk to sales, they bounce you to customer service and customer service has no clue. Bottom line is....the W Hotel, Westin, Four Seasons and others don't use Kingsdown mattress....Why would you? I ended up throwing the mattress out and bought an awesome brandnew mattress from a well qualified salesperson at Macy's. It is a Simmons and it's fantastic......Read below.
http://www.ripoffreport.com/Mattress-Stores/Sleepy-s/sleepy-s-kingsdown-mattress-ac98d.htm
I have had a queen size Kingsdown mattress for just under three years and it is shot. I weigh 185 pounds and sleep alone, the mattress is sagging and leaves my back and shoulders aching in the morning. To test whether it was a medical condition or the mattress I slept on an inflatable air bed and within two days the pain has vanished. I'll be buying a new mattress this week, however, it definately won't be a kingsdown. I wish I had researched the kingsdown brand before purchasing my first and last one. If a salesman tries to sell you this garbage don't walk but run as fast as you can from the store.
Kingsdown owner over here too. Bought it 2 years ago and am a careful researcher but could not find much on them....except in business for 100 years or something like that. They used to make fishing rods the first 99 years and mattresses in the last year....probably the case. Anyhow, started sleeping on the kid's bed and on the floor and my back aches have vanished.
Don't buy Kingsdown....and stay away from Sleepy's since they sell it and promote the hell out of it.
i was talked into purchasing a kingdown fullsize. it cost me $1500. after the 2 inspections i was told to call back in a few months, it needs to sag just alittle more. meanwhile i can hardly get out of the bed. when i went back to sleepy's to talk with a manager it was suggested to me to "jump on the bed, have someone heavy who works the opposite shift from you sleep in the bed, put a TV on the bed when i go out the door to work". there were some other wonderful suggestions from the 'mattress professional'. i have had it and i would never buy from the company again. i would love to be able to honestly suggest this company but as long as sleepy's says they can not replace the bed nor help me i would not go back to sleepy's nor kingsdown.
I bought a Queen sized Kingsdown Live to Sleep blue from Sleepys just 4 days ago. My husband is about 180 lbs and I weigh about 130 lbs so I wouldn't say either of us should be creating a slump. The first night in the mattress was great. The second night I felt a slight slump by the middle of the night. By the third night there was a definite slump and noticeable albeit small hump between my side and my husbands side of the bed. I feel like a fool for not doing the research and spending $2000 on a mattress that appears to have quality issues as so many people have complained about it. I am calling Sleepys tomorrow to rectify this situation. I had would not recommend this mattress to anyone.
I consider myself a world class sleeper. I have never had back problems, problems falling asleep or sleeping through the night...until now. I recently got a Kingsdown Queen sized Live to Sleep mattress. I still fall asleep immediately but I wake up with back pain in an uncomfortable ditch in the middle of the night. After about an hour of flopping around I fall back asleep. I should also add that there is a hump between my husband (who has always been a problem sleeper) and myself. It's only been a week or so but I've called Sleepys to return it. They said "call the 800 number and Sleepys corporate will replace it sight unseen." I hope the new mattress they replace it with is better than the one I just bought.
My wife and I bought a queen Kingsdown. After 3 months!! it started to sag and get lumpy. There is a reason you haven't heard of Kingsdown in 100 years...they are horrible! And, Sleepy's gave us the run around and won't honor the 10 year warranty. We're getting rid of it and buying a name we know. Save your money and buy a Serta, Simmons or Sealy.
My husband and I just bought a $2500.00 Kingsdown mattress. It was the most comfortable one in the whole store and even though it was much more expensive than most others, we decided to buy it thinking that it must be so costly because of its quality. We have had it for a month now and it is saggy, lumpy, and I wake up just in a rage because I couldn't once, in the entire night, get comfortable. Does anyone have any ideas for me? I am sure I can't return a mattress, but could I have it replaced monthly with the warranty? Any advise would be great! thanks =)
Something is definatly wrong with the negative comment customers. Somebody must be selling cheap mattresses with Kingsdown name on it. There is not a better matress on the market. PERIOD! And they are not cheaper than other inner springs. If you buy a real Kingsdown. I've owned two in the last 12 years. 1st was a queen and the 2nd is a king size. Family and friends love coming to our house just to sleep on the queen size bed. To all that have complaints - look deeper into your purchase. You don't have the real deal! I used to get cordizone shots in my shoulder and thought the time was near for back surgery and one of my knees. Then along came Kingsdown. I don't remember the knee pains, but the back and shoulder pains are still vivid in my mind. I can medically prove, my will attest to the fact that I have not had one shot, I have not complained about my knees, I get straight out of bed and start walking straight up. Prior to the Kingsdown-never less than 10 minutes in the hump back position. There will never be anything in my house/even for my kids but a Kingsdown. No matter what the cost. And by the way, I paid $2100.00 for a bottom line queen size Kingsdown in 1997. So I'm wondering what you really got for $1700???? It aint a KINGSDOWN raycook113@yahoo
I think this whole blog is a joke since non of these purchases can be confirmed anyone can just make a comment about anything, you have store and companies competing for every dollar out there so there will always be comments one way or another but without anyproof of ownership how could anyone decide on a purchase based on what you read here?
We went looking for a new mattress today because ours is pretty old and my husband and I both have back problems & I have arthritis in my hips. We found a Kingsdown Summit that was really comfortable and we wanted to buy, the salesman brought the price down to $850 and we thought that was great. After reading the negative comments here I don't know if we should buy it now. Has anyone ever had a Kingsdown Summit?
Wow. I was going to buy a a 600 Series "gold" Sleep to Live Mattress - it was incredibly comfortable at the store, but these posts and other "consumer rip-off" sites are freaking me out. Has anyone ever heard of Springwall beds? You need a chiropractic prescription. We are looking at a Crown Marquis model, which is a firm mattress with 1.5" memory foam on top...UGGHHH, this is such an awful process and all I want is a good night's sleep!
Hi we had terrible trouble with the Sleep to Live 700 mattress and had it changed from a green to blue. When the delivery men brought the new mattress they pointed out that the first one had been placed upside down by the previous delivery men - hence the problem with it. Anyway now we are delighted with the new blue one and so please do check that your sleep to live mattress is the right way up before you complain.
Do check that your mattress has been installed the right way round before you complain. Ours had the head at the foot and the foot part at the head hence no support and very uncomfortable. All is well now it is the right way round.
My husband and I had a Sealy Posturpedic for 3 years and the stupid mattress sagged so much in the middle we were miserable sleeping at night. We went to Sleepy's (never go there) was forced into that test for a mattress. Found the mattress very comfortable and decided upon it. After having problems with the other mattress we decided that we will spend more and be comfortable. HOWEVER, we have received our Kingsdown with 2 different levels and have been miserable for the past 2 weeks. the mattress sags in the middle still. i think the different levels does not work well together. maybe better if its the same throughout??? The customer service at Sleepys was horrible and they keep saying: you get what you pay for when you look at the cheaper mattresses. I was very frustrated with this process but was told Kingsdown was good. From my experience I am not happy and at this point dont want to pay the restocking fee to get a new mattress. So I might be stuck with this 3K mattress and no comfort. Thought I was making a right decision by spending more but it didnt pan out as planned. Laying on a mattress for 10 mins does not help. I cant believe its this difficult for people to be honest and not try to rip you off. I felt used and taken for a ride from my sales person. Now I have little to no recourse and bad sleep. Dont go to Sleepys and dont get the mattress with different levels.
We've have now had the Sleep to Live 400 Green for about 6 months now. No problems. We love it and are very pleased with our purchase.
Goodnight...

We recently purchased a Kingsdown mattress. I have been waking up with a sore neck, shoulders and back, and I can honestly say that I never had such severe pain from my old mattress. I feel like I'm sleeping on a rock. I ended up sleeping our guest futon last night and had a better nights rest. The Kingsdown in the showroom was comfortable and what we had delivered feels nothing like that. Paid over $1000. But I do have to add that my in-laws purchased the exact same mattress just a week or two before we did, and they absolutely love it. I would do more research next time before purchasing.
I also looked up reviews before purchasing the kingsdown sleep to live. I bought the 400 series green and had te firmer side for my husband and a softer feel for me. I cannnnotttt imagine not having it and love it soooo much. I've been meaning to come back and write a review to refute the negative comments from before and stopped saying that it is personal preference but I jut donnnt understand why anyone couldn't love it! I've had it for 5 months an my mother bought it as a wedding present. I negotiated for a while and it became 1900 with delivery and taxes so folks...NEGOTIATE
the only downside I have is that now I don't enjoy sleeping anywhere other than my bed and my husband feels the exact same way (firmer being better for men and their comfort level)
happy sleeping everyone GO buy it just negotiate!!!
I don't want to be rude, but it would be great and informative if you also post your weight when writing a comment. Maybe the Kingsdown mattresses are not well fit to support overweight or obese people...
